Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM):

  1. Principle of Operation: FDM is one of the most common 3D printing technologies. In this process, thermoplastic material (such as PLA, PC, PETG) is melted into a filament and then extruded through a print head onto the print bed layer by layer, creating the desired object.
  2. Advantages:
    • Wide range of materials available, including strong and flexible materials.
    • Well-suited for prototyping and printing functional parts.
  3. Disadvantages:
    • Lower print quality compared to some other technologies.
    • Visible layer lines may require post-processing.
    • Printing detailed and complex geometries can be challenging.
